I took these images for my preliminary task, the first picture in the top
left is a medium shot, and this shows the school as presentable and talented,
that I why I have chosen this picture for my front cover.
The second picture along is another medium shot showing the sixth forms
dress code, the student in the picture will be cut out and put in front of a
better background.
The third picture along is almost a over the shoulder shot of a student,
this shows the students working hard and gives the impression to the audience
that the students care about their studies.
The last picture is a long shot, I’ve used this to show the audience that
the schools doesn’t just focus on education and studying but allow the students
relax and enjoy sport.
To create my front cover and contents page of my school magazine I used Photoshop,
at first I had to decide a suitable colour scheme for my magazine, I decided that
using gold and blue was a good idea as blue fitted well with the background
image and gold is one of the school colours, the gold is a bold colour which
stands out against the blue. I used the rounded rectangle tool to create the
masthead, the text I then put over the rectangle has the bevel and emboss
effect. My contents page follows the same colour scheme, for the picture in the
bottom right I used the magic easer tool to delete the background of the image
easily, I also used bevel and emboss on the contents title.
